Almost Friday

Almost Friday! This week just will not end….. UGH!

I had a check up today and everything went well. I’m gaining minimal weight (YEAH!!!) and the baby’s heartbeat was right where they want it. She also kicked the doctor, which was kind of funny…. As she measured my stomach and pressed in…. her had got a swift kick. Apparently she didn’t like having her personal space invaded! It was pretty funny.

I was schedule for yet another ultrasound since during the last ultrasound; she wouldn’t cooperate and let the lady get pictures of her spine. Ah well, it’s another chance to see the progression of the baby. That ultrasound is scheduled for December 26th. It’ll be fun!

The office is quiet today with most of the employees gone to the corporate office for a meeting. There are only a handful of us here and it’s wonderful. I love these quiet days. So relaxing!

It’s such a beautiful day outside, sunny … but unfortunately coooooooooold! Brrr…. But from my office window it looks lovely out.

Monday, Matthew and I are taking a class through Washington Hospital on baby care. We’re both excited about going and learning. I’m sure it’ll be incredibly useful for the both of us!

So I think I might put the Christmas tree up at work today. We have one in the office but haven’t gotten around to decorating it as of yet. Today seems like a perfect day to do so. I don’t really have a whole lot to do and it will defiantly keep me entertained for the time being.

Well I’m going to go make myself some lunch. Matthew cooked me some chicken last night and rice to surprise me with a great healthy lunch for work today. YUM! It smells so good…..

Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

Day two of back to work… I need another mini vacation! Now I remember why I hate holidays so much… there is just way too many things to do and not enough hours to do them in.

To sum up how I feel today, it’s about as good as the weather… sometimes I’m sunny… sometimes I’m dreary… and sometimes I just want to crawl back into bed for a nice long nap. Thankfully this day is almost over and I can go home and get my nap. I stayed up too late last night watching the Steeler game. It was just too funny watching them sludge themselves around in the swamp of Heinz Field. I couldn’t go to bed (though I did doze off a few times during the game).

I’ve been listening to Froggy all day with their intermittent Christmas music (listening for the song of the day of course)! I wake Matthew up each time they play the song early to try and call to be caller 100 for the $500 in Christmas Cash! Come on? Who couldn’t use $500!!! That would do wonders right now! Money is money!

I told Matt I was feeling lucky and I wanted to go to the meadows soon…. We haven’t been there in about a month. I love going there so maybe this weekend after we pay the bills and see what we have left. Mmmmm Monopoly is at the Meadows. I love that game!

Speaking of Monopoly…. The new game is defiantly interesting. We’ve played both the life and the monopoly and I love them both. The new version of life is so different, but it’s totally addictive!

So I’m sitting here at work a little bored… listening to Froggy and Danger going on and on about what the Steelers should have played on instead of the turf to give them traction. Most are calling in saying astro turf and the parking lot… I thought I’d be funny so I sent him an email a bit ago and I’ll share it with you. I thought it was funny!

The Top 5 Things The Steelers Should Have Covered The Field With For The Game

5. Jello – Because it would have been funny.
4. Used Sears Catalogs – Rednecks know best!
3. Bounty Paper Towels – The quicker Picker Upper
2. PennDOT Road Tar and feathers – Super Sticky and soft to land on
1. Oatmeal – Absorb the water and give the boys some traction so it wouldn’t have taken an entire game to score one goal!

Well back to work for the last 45 minutes. Until later…

Black Friday Shopping Woo Hoo!

Turkey Day is over and now the Christmas rush begins. Yesterday went off well with the family gathering. Food was good, everyone behaved, and no one died. I guess that’s a good thing!

Matthew and I have been up since 3am today. Ah the joys of black Friday shopping. Well, one of us is still awake … the other is passed out in the bed. I’m actually not tired since I went to bed early last night (I was beat from the day) so I’ll probably take a nap this afternoon for sure.

We went to Walmart this morning to get a few things, then Target, grabbed some grub and home by 8am… We rock! Matthew was afraid he’d get in a fight trying to get me a digital photo frame I’ve been wanting since last Christmas… though there were hundreds of insane people, he managed to pull one from the pile while I hunted through a palette of dinnerware for three sets of one color. Go figure the one pattern we agree on only two in the whole damn thing… luckily we managed to find another set on the shelves before we left. I finally have a matching set of dinnerware, I’m so excited!!!

After Walmart we froze waiting in line for Target to open. As usual, they kept the crowd under control and it was a relatively easy time, minus the fact that one item we went for ran out and I made people go hunt in the stock room to find more. At Target I bought an Armoire (finally) to put all my beautiful jewelry in so I can find it when I want to wear something. I also picked up the monopoly electronic edition (Been waiting for this game) and life twists and turns. It has changed a lot since the old life, but it looks fun. I can’t wait to play it later.

Today, I think I’m going to get my house back in order and maybe pull up some of the Christmas/holiday items from the basement since I have the time to decorate, I might as well use it wisely.

Things are going well. I have a check up next week so I’ll update then. Time to get to more cleaning of the house and putting it back into some kind of order. I’ve also got to wash the new dishes and box up the old ones to try and sell…. Ah so many things to do today. Adios!

Happy Turkey Week

Ah Mondays… can I trade you for a day later in the week? It’s another manic Monday… actually more like another boring Monday. Work has slowed to a snails pace due to the holidays so I’ve struggled to keep myself busy. Ah well!

I’m waiting anxiously to hear from the bank about getting a new car! Oh I hope everything goes through well, a new car for the holidays would totally rock!!! Granted, it’s the same car I’m driving but two years newer and lots less miles (like NO miles actually)! It’s a wine red color with a gray/black interior. I swear I will NEVER EVER EVER buy another car with a beige or light colored interior… might I stress the ever part.

So this weekend was packed full of excitement. Our lunch went well, with much accomplished. Shower plans are underway and will be announced after the new year… so stay tuned. Matthew kept his promise to take me to see Beowulf at the IMAX at Pittsburgh Mills. I’ve been wanting to go to that mall since it opened and man I’m glad we did. First, the mall is so nice. It’s not that far (under an hour) and has some awesome stores… then there was the movie… Oh my! If you go see this movie, take the trip to the IMAX because it’s just amazing! There’s nothing better than feeling like part of the movie… and IMAX 3D makes you feel that way. I want to see more movies there… I can’t wait. It’s not overly expensive either (only a few dollars more than a normal movie would cost you anyways) so why not add the great experience.

Watching the Steeler game yesterday was rather disappointing. Do I even need to say more? Ah well, such is life! Tonight is Dancing with the Stars so I’ll be looking forward to that! It sucks the finale week will be the same as the Steeler Monday night football game….. oh what to watch… what to watch…

So today my notary information came in the mail, finally! What a process this has been (I started in late September). Now I just need to go to Pittsburgh and register myself and then I’ll get my certificate and I’m officially a notary. Yeah! (Dance of joy)….

It’s going to be a short week for me. I’m only working today and tomorrow. I took Wednesday off because… well why not. We’re doing Thanksgiving dinner at our house so I need to get that ready then shopping on black Friday so I figured… hey nice five day weekend. I’ve worked hard (haven’t had a lot to do) so I deserve to rest and relax for a day. I think Matt’s going to switch his Wednesday for a Saturday so he can stay home too and get things ready, but I’m not sure. He hasn’t said yes/no yet. Either way is fine with me. My mom will be coming over to help me get things ready… so that’ll be fun too!

Well I’ve gotta make some phone calls and accomplish a few things. Happy holidays in case I don’t get my butt back on here before the end of the week (Which is very likely)!

UGH! Mondays

Happy Veterns Day!!!

Here we are at another Monday. Thrill! I hate Mondays! Weekend just flew by and I spent the majority of it cleaning with my mom. We didn’t get nearly as far as I thought we would, but then again it doesn’t help when I can only do so much before needing to sit for a few minutes. But at least we got things done. Mom and I knocked off the kitchen, dining room, and bathroom on Saturday (the worst of the rooms was the Kitchen, but it normally is the worst in any house to really CLEAN). We did a lot of rearranging of appliances and what not that Matthew and I don’t use on a regular basis and made so much more room…. Enough for Matthew to buy the countertop dishwasher I’ve been wanting!!! No I’m not too lazy to wash the dishes; it’s more of a plan ahead with our busy lives and a baby coming… if we can simplify something… why not. They aren’t expensive and wash a reasonable amount of dishes…

But anyways, I’m feeling a little sore from all the cleaning… Matthew and I knocked off the living room yesterday morning and then watched the Steeler game. I went to Joann’s in between cleaning and the game to get some fabric for some Christmas presents I’m making (They had a HUGE sale)… it was like a freakin zoo! Oh well, I saved a ton of money!

This week should be rather slow. Most of my office has meetings out of town so it’ll be very slim in here this week, but it will be nice and relaxing too!

Well back to work! Keep checking the website! New things will be added in the coming weeks!

It's a Girl!

It’s a girl! Finally the agonizing question has been answered… now onto the next step, a name. Yikes! Matthew and I have been going back and forth with names for months and now we’re really needing to crack down and pick something. Unique…. Beautiful…. Distinguished… and something we like! In my eyes, our top choices are Arabella, Isabella, and Ariana. Though Anastasia is sitting high in the list too. Middle name choices are leigh and Celeste, but we’re still thinking. If you have any suggestions, please submit them through the website….. we’ll defiantly listen!

The ultrasound photos have been posted. They aren’t the best quality, but what do you want from scanned ultrasound photos. Please take a look (They’re in the baby photos section) and feel free to comment (Flickr lets you do that).

Now that we know it’s a girl, it’s time to start thinking of decorating the room. We’ve had our heart set on green walls … a light pastel green (mint green) color and I think we’re going to sponge paint purple butterflies (maybe some yellow and red too) on the walls. I have my heart set on a bed set from Walmart with purple and green butterflies…. I must have it as it’s perfect for the room.

My mind is a flutter with different decorating ideas. So many things to do with so little time, but we’ll get it all in somehow. We’re getting into the stretch of holiday season and now life is going to go into overdrive (as if we’re not busy enough) … Thanksgiving is coming and then Christmas….. and then we’re really into crunch time. It will all come together though, we’ll make it work.

Well, speaking of work…. Time for me to go back. Enjoy the photos, vote in the baby poll and please submit name suggestions!

The Big Day

It’s the big day, finally! And this day just isn’t going fast enough for me. In fact, I think it’s dragging at the slowest pace possible for a day. It feels like I’ve been at work for about 5 hours but in reality, it’s only 2…. How will I make it until 2pm?

I found it hard to sleep last night. The excitement is killing me; however, Matthew slept like a rock… in fact he even tried to roll over on me causing me to kick my poor kitty Artex who was sleeping at my feet… to which he promptly bit my toe…. Grrr… I’ll get him for that … (Matthew… not the cat).

Wow, is it really only Wednesday? This week seems to be dragging by slower and slower. It seems like only yesterday Matthew was gloating about beating me in fantasy football, oh wait… it was yesterday! Ah well, now it’s a new week and a new competitor…. Time to get back up on my pedestal as John so eloquently put it.

I finally got to watch dancing with the stars yesterday when I came home from work. I missed it on Monday, throwing my whole week off. But I did enjoy the Steeler game that was in it’s place… gotta love crushing the Ravens. I was actually glad to see Jane get voted off last night. It was time for her to be done. She can’t keep up with the other ones, but hey I give her credit for making it so far. I wish Sabrina was still on… that was quite a shocker, she should have been in the final with Helio, but such is life.

Tonight are the CMA awards, so I know Matthew will be hiding in the basement for the majority of the evening…. Ah a whole night of country music! Speaking of Matthew, he may be getting a new shift at work as someone was leaving on a slightly earlier shift (only about an hour earlier)

I registered for some classes this week for Baby Care through Washington Hospital. Surprisingly, Matthew didn’t even fight me on taking them. I’m really glad too because I want him to be with me for everything. I’m so glad he does! He’s only missed one doctors appointment check up, which isn’t a big deal… he’s sure to make it for all important appointments though!

As I look out my beautiful window right now, I see it’s snowing again… Just flurries though. I actually don’t mind them… they are kind of pretty to watch. Snow is pretty… until it becomes a pain to drive in. I wouldn’t mind getting dumped on again though…. Like we did a few years back while I was in Waynesburg and everything in South Western PA was shut down. That was fun! Take a few days off work, sit in the nice warm house and relax… yeah I’m dreaming… it’s not going to happen this year. The weather people are predicting a rather mild winter… which means it’ll be like last year with not a lot of snow. Bummer….

Well it’s about time for me to find something to do to make time just fly by. I can’t deal with the crawling pace of the day. UGH! Until later when I do some massive updates to the site…….

Snow

It’s beginning to look a lot like…. Not fall…. I woke up this morning to snow…. Before Thanksgiving! Gotta love the crazy PA weather we get! So here we are barely into November and the lovely white stuff is fluttering around on my car this morning. I love it! I felt so moved by the snow; I wore my snowflake earrings today!

Sitting at work looking at the snow flurries makes me want a nice cup of hot chocolate and marshmallows… too bad I don’t have any at work. But I have lots of tea… tea is good! I think I may have to make hot chocolate later tonight when I get home because we just bought a nice big bag of marshmallows!

So one more day until the agony is gone… 2pm tomorrow just won’t come fast enough! I am looking forward to finding out, but certainly not drinking all the water to the point of feeling like I’m going to burst! Ugh! Thankfully this test isn’t first thing in the morning like the last one was.

If you’ve noticed, I’ve been doing some renovations to the website getting ready for tomorrow. Once we found out the sex, the polls will be coming down with one finalized poll replacing the two… I have also added a box to the bottom of the polls/fun stuff page for anyone to suggest names not on the list they think we should consider. We’ve looked and reviewed tons of names, but still there are some we haven’t heard or thought of, so we welcome your feedback.

I should have ultrasound pictures up by Thursday, should anyways… I’ll do my best. They will be up by the end of the week though, come hell or high water… I’ll make it happen! If we have video that will be up as soon as possible as well.

I keep meaning to post the pictures from our trip to York a few weeks ago, but alas they are still sitting on the camera as I haven’t had a chance to get them to the computer (along with the other pictures on the camera from Toby Keith, Brad Paisley and other things I did over the summer…. Yes, I’m a little behind!

It’s a quiet day at work today. My boss is gone and there isn’t much to do in the way of work that I can actually do, mostly things I need other people for… and well they are all busy… ah well. It gives me time to do some updating that I’ve neglected on this website the last few weeks.

If you’ve noticed the background changes with the seasons… hopefully I’ll keep that up for the whole year (Yeah Right)… because there are some really nice backgrounds for the holidays… surprisingly though the Christmas background isn’t as nice as some of the others… well maybe some new things will pop up before the Christmas season comes around.

This weekend I’ll be rearranging the house with the help of my mother. We’re getting ready for the Thanksgiving dinner at my house this year. I’m really excited about it too! It will be so wonderful not to travel for the holiday. It gets tiresome and we never really got to spend time with either family much because we had to run out to the next dinner so quickly. I was tired of eating twice as well… finally a year of relaxation!

Well it’s about time for a refill on my tea… it’s a little chilly in here hopefully that will warm me up.

Counting Down Until Ultrasound

Chilly Mondays…. I hate chilly any days! When I woke up this morning I was shivering…. It’s just too cold! Matthew finally took the air conditioner out of the window this weekend with the help of Chris, and not a moment too soon as it’s gonna snow in the very near future (joy….).

The clock is ticking; Wednesday just isn’t coming fast enough for me. I’m so excited to find out what’s growing inside of me. Finally, we can pick a name and colors for the room and bedding, clothes, etc. All the fun things we’ve been putting off until we found out if it’s a girl or a boy. What an exciting week this is going to be for me and everyone around me.

I hope everyone’s been voting on their thoughts for names…. Both sets of grandparents have expressed the hate the name Atreyu…. But we still like it! It’s one of the front runner boys names from our point of view… Sebastian is another popular boys name and Aiden with me (though Matthew hates it)…. Isabella and Arabella are two of our favorite girls names… but we’ll really settle down with names in the coming weeks.

If you have any thoughts of names not on the list yet, please leave them as comments in the guest book and we’ll give them ample consideration. Matthew and I value your feedback and are thrilled you want to be a part of this changing experience.

Well, time to go back to work for a while. I’ll be updating a lot this week I suspect!

Updates... 2nd Ultrasound... etc

Whew! Updating took me a little while the last few weeks. It’s been a whirlwind since we took our trip to York last weekend, but what fun it’s been!

Matthew and I left for York on Thursday of last week. It took about four hours to get to the hotel we stayed at (directly across from the York office I needed to visit). We arrived around 7ish, settled in and then walked next door for some Ruby Tuesday’s dinner. Yum! I wish there was one closer to us but alas, none in the Washington area… though there are a few in Allegheny County. Anyways, after dinner we relaxed in the hotel for the evening.

Friday morning I had to go to work bright and early at 8:30 for my meeting. It was actually a really enjoyable experience to meet the people I communicate with almost daily. I could finally put a face with the voices/emails. Everyone was so nice and I learned a lot more about my job and the company. Always a bonus! I do really love what I do… not many people can say that.

Friday evening, instead of leaving we explored the area. We were going out to Lancaster, but unfortunately Mother Nature didn’t want me to go visiting Amish country so she poured down rain most of the afternoon. However, the helpful ladies at the hotel pointed us to some pretty cool locations indoors for the evening. We started with an Amish Marketplace about ten minutes away, which was a lot of fun. Some of the stuff there was simply beautiful… like the outhouse I wanted to bring home for my mother (if you know my mother, you understand why…..) and the furniture I wish I could afford in a lifetime. But I did manage to pick up a few trinkets along the way.

After the marketplace, I found a mall online through Google with a store called “The Gothic Shop.” After a few Google searches, I discovered this was a store filled with swords, fairies and other renaissance type items so naturally, we had to check it out. The mall otherwise, was just your average mall with stores much like at home.

After the mall we headed back to the hotel for some relaxing… we ordered in some dinner from a Pizza Place that seemed to have the stupidest people in the world working there… but at least the food wasn’t half bad.

Saturday morning we left early and got home around noon. My kitty attacked us when we got home. I think he actually missed having us around. When my mother came to visit him on Friday, she said he didn’t even bite her (which is his trademark) so that caused me to worry… but of course he was fine… just lonely. He didn’t leave our side the rest of the evening.

Sunday was the usual Steeler Game and fantasy football yelling at each other. I’m so glad Matthew got me involved in Fantasy Football because I’ve had a blast playing every week. This week Matthew and I actually play each other, so there’s sure to be a lot of yelling in our household at each other … should be rather entertaining! I’m sitting in first place alone finally after being tied for the last few weeks with someone else. I’m on a seven game winning streak, the best in our league! I’ve lost one game (my first game) and have seemed to be on fire ever since. I hope I can continue having such great luck!

Work on Monday started with insanity. It was just a busy week with three proposals due at the end, plus catching up from being off on Thursday/Friday. I also had a doctor appointment (check-up) on Thursday and was off for the morning.

The doctors went well. The baby’s heartbeat is 160… which is right where they want it to be. I also scheduled my second ultrasound so we can find out what we’re having. It’s going to be next Tuesday, so be sure to log in Tuesday night/Wednesday to find out the good news! Matthew and I are so excited!

Unfortunately, I’m only getting a 2D ultrasound because the doctor won’t order me a 3D one, which is so much cooler! However, I found out a few people the 3D ultrasounds are much more expensive, which is why they aren’t ordered (and insurance will sometimes not cover them because they aren’t “medically necessary”)… so in a way I’m glad (since I do pay for parts of something). But never fear… where there’s a will… there’s a way. I located a place in Monroeville that does 3D ultrasounds without doctor notes (you just pay out of pocket) and surprisingly, they aren’t terribly expensive. We’ve decided after the new year, when the baby is more developed (obviously want the best pictures possible)… we’re going to head out to the place and have ourselves a kick ass 3D/4D ultrasound! What a thrill!

In other news, I’ve been feeling ok… but sometimes eh. I had a flu shot Thursday and I think it’s starting to make me sick, little by little. I really hope not though, I hate being sick. Matthew is just Matthew… a little nutty… I drive him crazy… nothing unusual.

In a bit of good news from Matthew’s side, on November 1st, he was converted from an Adecco temp to a Land America temp, complete with a raise, overtime eligibility and a few incentives (no benefits though) but at least it’s a step in the right direction! We’re absolutely thrilled!

Well, that’s about all for the update. Stop back next week to find out if it’s a boy or girl!
